Craig E Scott 

Born and brought up on the West Coast of the United States, Craig Scott gained a BA in Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and an MA in Communications from San Francisco State University.

He moved to England in 1975, and worked as a bookkeeper and office manager before moving into technical advertising and public relations.

Craig set up Heuristics in 1988 as a vehicle for his increasing involvement in business and technical documentation for major clients.

After more than 25 years in England, he has attained fluency in British as well as US English.

Sarah L Scott

Sarah Scott has a BA in Language from the University of York and a Certificate in Natural Science from the Open University.

She started in the book trade, working for bookshops and publishers, before moving into technical writing and electronic publishing.

After several years as a documentation manager, Sarah joined Heuristics Ltd as co-director in 1995.

Craig and Sarah – who met at the first ISTC conference in 1992 – were married in 1999.
