We found these names with addresses in Wisconsin and Minnesota in the address book of Glory Scott. She was born Inez (or Margaret Inez) Jones in Ridgeway or Dodgeville, Wisconsin (her parents’ first names are not known – her birth wasn’t registered). As a young girl, she was adopted by Ephraim and Margaret Evans after her mother’s death. At this time she was called Inez (or Margaret Inez) Evans. The Evans family lived in St Paul, Minnesota, then later moved to Portland, Oregon. On her marriage to William R Scott, Inez officially adopted her husband’s nickname for her, “Glory”.
These names and addresses appear to have been copied into a new book from an earlier address book, probably in around 1940. Between then and her death in 1965, she crossed some of the names out with the note “deceased”. We’ve included these names in case they provide a missing link for anyone’s family, especially where birthdays and wedding anniversaries are given – or in case any of their descendants can provide us with any information about Inez’s early life in Wisconsin and Minnesota, about which we know very little.
