Craig E Scott

Born and brought up on the West Coast of the United States, Craig Scott gained a BA in Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and an MA in Communications from San Francisco State University.

He moved to England in 1975, and has worked in technical advertising and public relations.

He developed his expertise in local history, taking ‘The History of Leeds’ as his specialist subject on his appearance on BBC-TV’s Mastermind in 1981. He has also given talks to local schools and groups such as the Women’s Institute.

During his time in Brighton and Cox Green, he has continued to research and speak on matters of historical interest and to produce tourists’ guides and display material.

Craig has been researching family history on both sides of the Atlantic for over 20 years.

Sarah L Scott

English by birth, Sarah Scott has a BA in Language from the University of York, specialising in Old and Middle English, and has also studied with the Open University.

Her genealogical research started with that of her own family some 30 years ago, and she has experience in paleaography and reading early documents.

Her photography has been used in company guides and in display material. She has written booklets on Cox Green in the 17th to 19th centuries, and on local heritage walks.
